The very nature of our business speaks to "re-use ..." and we're committed to reducing, reusing and recycling in every aspect of our business. Our parties are almost waste free ... only tea bag and sweetner packet wrappers will go in your trash!

REDUCING/REUSING
We use NO PAPER OR PLASTIC party products ... just fabric tablecloths, cloth napkins, real flatware and china ... the only exceptions are kids' coloring pages!

RECYCLING
We use ONLY RECYCLABLE and reusable packing materials. Your party goods will be wrapped in clean, recyclable paper in reusable storage containers. Large items may be packed with bubble wrap between paper-wrapped items and will be reused. When you return rented items, we ask that you re-wrap them in these materials. We then recycle the packing materials. Even our tea bags can be composted; during cleanup, just put your used tea bags inside a teapot and we'll compost them.

MORE TIPS FOR ECO-FRIENDLY ENTERTAINING

SEND E-INVITES, OR RECYCLABLE PAPER INVITATIONS: Electronic invitations (like Evites.com) can't be beat for waste reduction! Our Kids' Tea Party To Go Kits include a customized PDF to email your guests. However, the old fashioned paper invitation sent by snail-mail makes a lovely statement. Just use recycled paper, and be sure to recycle any unused paper products.

BUY LOCAL: Local businesses (like farmer's markets, bakeries, delis and florists) benefit the environment by needing minimal packaging and less transportation to sales outlets. They often also have added health benefits because they need less preservation.

SHOP WITH A TOTE: It goes without saying, but plastic bags are not acceptable for curbside recycling (however, some grocery stores, like Fred Meyer, are collection points and send them to overseas markets).

DECORATE WITH REUSABLE ITEMS: The ubiquitous Mason jar is a case in point; also wine bottles, milk bottles and vintage-style pop bottles, which make charming vases.

SEND HOME LEFTOVERS: If you do have food remaining from your party (and they'll be yummy!), offer the leftovers to be enjoyed later! Send them home in reusable containers like these. You've then also given the containters as gifts to use again and again.
